Apologies for Absence |
| Well I've had to be away from this for a bit, for 2 reasons. 1) Writing a rather in depth article on the main site which needed a bit more work than usual due to technical glitches when I posted it elsewhere. 2) I needed to get my head elsewhere, to return fresh to this business idea that started with a proposal to save this game. Now it is a business idea because it will be presented to other software companies, and so it needs to be understood differently. Additionally this could be modified to work for other businesses as well. And some may be offended with my saying so but I must explain that in the coming year, pursuant to the proposed budget by the President of the United States, the deduction for charity is being decreased. Charities thrive on donations, and many people will write off the donation against their income, decreasing their total income and lowering the amount of taxes they owe. This write-off amount is being lowered. Charities will need a new means to get funds more than ever before, and at the worst time possible when you think about the state of the world economy. I do not like having to consider these things, but the idea that hospitals and other organizations that have been there in natural and unnatural emergencies not having the funds they need to be there for the next one is very troubling, to say the least. Thus this model, this idea of a charity owning 25% of a business or maybe more, makes more sense than ever now that the deduction will be lowered so it must be worked on with a broader interest than just Tabula Rasa or any manifestation of it. So to those who check back here now and then, I hope I've explained the situation. To any who happened here recently and are new, the effort isn't over but has been severly cut back, for there are rumors of what is happening to Tabula Rasa internally at NCSoft as well as watching the interest dwindle that leaves this even moreso on the backs of just a few, if that. So I do thank you for coming and please do check back from time to time, eventually the currently 38 page proposal will arrive in full in the members area for review, comment and input, of course remaining primarily about Tabula Rasa, introducing it to a new company to then seek their interest in being the marketing plan for it, should they approach NCSoft to buy it. Although if the rumors are true NCSoft won't sell it (just like Auto Assault) and we'll have done this for nothing, so calendar is being looked at as well. In a nutshell, I haven't given up but I must see if rumor is merely rumor or true, so I am on hold in making any bold moves, but not on hold in so far as refining and augmenting the proposal should the rumor be false. Yet, at the same time, the whole idea is fitting for elsewhere, for other industries and businesses in the midst of this economic cycle, and I'd like to be prepared to carry it elsewhere should the rumors prove true. I hope you can appreciate that I do not want to let a good idea die over lack of interest by gaming companies. Thank you all who have posted for your support, McG |
